NFL betting trends: Week 12 underdogs that will cover

Week 12 sees a disappointing trend against the Broncos and an OVERwhelming totals trend on the Patriots. What else is on the NFL betting trend list for this week?

US PRESSWIRE

Bettors continue to give thanks for the New England Patriots and their ability to cover huge point spreads and always play OVER the total.

So it’s appropriate on Thanksgiving that the Patriots are 7-point road favorites and are favored to go OVER the total for the ninth week in a row.

Thanksgiving Thursday means a short week for six NFL teams, a key indicator for NFL bettors, especially when teams are nursing injuries. In two of the three games, the road team is favored, led by aforementioned New England.

Houston visits Detroit, looking to build upon their money-making 8-2 ATS run in 10 recent road games. The Texans were 3-point favorites at most shops tracked by OddsShark.com, the odds provider to SBNation.

Washington is in Dallas, a place where they have covered five straight point spreads. They are small 3-point underdogs, but a real threat to emerge with a win. Overall, the Skins are 9-2 ATS in their past 11 clashes with the Cowboys.

Washington also owns some positive trends with the division, while the Cowboys struggle terribly against NFC East foes.

The Patriots are 9-2 ATS in 11 seasons while visiting the Jets.

Tennessee, Minnesota, NY Giants and Seattle all come off the final bye week of the season. Of them, Seattle has struggled the most at 2-10-1 ATS the past 13 seasons. They have also been a reliable OVER bet, according to the NFL trends at Odds Shark.

Denver faces an ugly 0-10 ATS trend in Kansas City and Cleveland hopes to put a dent in its 1-16 SU record in 17 games vs the Steelers Sunday.
