Steelers vs. Browns final score: Cleveland grabs win from error-prone Pittsburgh

The Steelers committed eight turnovers and still had a chance to win Sunday’s game.

Matt Sullivan

The Cleveland Browns took advantage of eight turnovers from the Pittsburgh Steelers to pick up a 20-14 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Pittsburgh held a 14-13 lead at halftime, but a Trent Richardson touchdown run in the third quarter put the Browns up for the remainder of the game.

The teams combined for nine turnovers. One of the Steelers’ turnovers came on the last play of the game, which was a lateral that ended with a fumble.

Neither team played particularly well. They combined for 478 yards of offense.

The Steelers jumped out to an early lead. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons picked off Brandon Weeden and took it back for 53 yards and a touchdown. The interception came in the first two minutes of the game.

The Browns answered back with a pair of Phil Dawson field goals and a Weeden touchdown pass to Jordan Cameron. The Steelers took the lead at halftime thanks to a last-second touchdown run from Chris Rainey.

Football isn’t always pretty

The Steelers committed eight turnovers Sunday. That’s more than enough to incite some feedback on the Internet:

Here’s one of those not-so-pretty but fun to watch moments from Sunday’s game:

Fantasy studs and duds

If you were hopeful that third-string quarterback Charlie Batch could get you some fantasy points against the Cleveland Browns defense, you're regretting it now. He finished 20-for-34 for 197 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions.

But if you were also hoping for a good day from Trent Richardson, you pretty much got it. He rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries.

Injury updates

The Steelers did not go unscathed in Sunday's game. They lost both linebacker LaMarr Woodley and tackle Mike Adams to left ankle injuries. Neither returned to the game.

The Browns also lost starting quarterback Brandon Weeden to a head injury late in the game. His status is unknown.

Did they cover?

The Steelers were 1-point favorites, so they did not cover.

What’s next?

Pittsburgh will hit the road to play rival Baltimore next Sunday. The Browns will also play on the road Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
