The Kansas City Chiefs took the "lead" over the Jacksonville Jaguars for the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft on Sunday. Though they held a 9-7 lead at one point over the Denver Broncos, the Chiefs eventually succumbed to the inevitable for a 17-9 loss.
2013 NFL Draft order: Chiefs lead Jaguars for first overall pick
With a 17-9 loss to the Broncos on Sunday, the Chiefs took the “lead” over the Jaguars for the first overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

With a 1-10 overall record, the Chiefs are projected to have the No. 1 selection in the NFL Draft, where they may target a quarterback to help out a potentially formidable running game with Jamaal Charles out of the backfield. Brady Quinn started under center this week, but finished just 13-for-25 passing for 126 yards and an interception.
The Jags beat the Tennessee Titans, 24-19, on Sunday to improve to 2-9 on the season. They joined the Carolina Panthers (who will play Monday night) at the two-win plateau, putting them within striking distance of the first overall draft pick should the Chiefs suddenly trip and win a couple more games this season.
