Seahawks vs. Dolphins 2012: Seattle plays ‘frustrating’ game

Seattle couldn’t get the job done on the road once again, this time against the Dolphins.

Mike Ehrmann

The Seattle Seahawks seem to have a split personality. On one hand, the team is dominant at home and plays like one of the best units in the league. On the road, Seattle often looks awful, as it did on Sunday in its 24-21 last-second lost to the Miami Dolphins.

One of the few positives in this game was Russell Wilson, as pointed out by Danny Kelly over on Field Gulls:

The silver lining is that Russell Wilson played well. Wilson finished 21 of 27 for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns, and at one point completed 15 straight. He escaped several plays, which looked to be sure sacks, and completed passes or scrambled for positive yardage. He picked up 38 yards with his legs and looked pretty poised throughout, despite the close game.

Seattle had a bevy of issues in this one, most notably up front. Miami was able to win the point-of-attack all afternoon, gashing huge holes in the Seahawks' defensive line for running backs Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas to exploit.

On the other side of the ball, Seattle could never get Marshawn Lynch going against one of the better and perhaps most underrated defenses in the NFL.

Kelly sums it all up in a paragraph, as he and the rest of Seattle brace for next week.

Overall, just a really crappy game all around. Issues on defense. Trouble running the ball. Bad calls by the referees. No-calls by the referees. Just frustrating, in general, and now the Seahawks’ road to the playoffs becomes a little tougher.
