The NFL started handing out its honors for players of the month for November on Thursday, as Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III claimed the Offensive Rookie of the Month award.

The NFL’s top players for the month of November were announced.


As for the rest of the NFC, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was named November's best offensive player; Tampa Bay Buccaneer's linebacker Lavonte David was the Defensive Rookie of the Month; and San Francisco 49ers pass rushing linebacker Aldon Smith was awarded Defensive Player of the Month honors.
In the AFC, Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller was named Defensive Player of the Month. Other awards for November in the AFC were not yet available.
Johnson recorded three receiving touchdowns in November for the Lions, while Griffin threw eight touchdowns (and only one interception) in three games. Smith tallied nine sacks over three games in the month, as he also leads the league in total sacks, with 16½.
In four games in November, Miller recorded eight sacks for the Broncos, who also went undefeated in the month.
