Michael Vick fails concussion test, Eagles will go with Nick Foles again

Michael Vick will not be able to play Sunday for the Philadelphia Eagles, as he failed yet another test meant to gauge his brain function in the aftermath of a concussion suffered Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Michael Vick failed a test Thursday to see whether he'd be able to play in the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philly, which means Nick Foles will start a third consecutive game with Vick sidelined with a concussion.

Vick is no closer to passing the test this week than he was last week. He was expected to play this week after being called “close” to passing last Saturday, but he apparently has not progressed as he tries to recover from the head injury. The quarterback will need to be cleared by an NFL-approved doctor as well as the Eagles’ doctor before being allowed to play due to the league’s concussion protocol. It’s not clear whether the Eagles will continue to start Foles if and when Vick is cleared to play.

Foles has looked slightly worse than Vick in his three games since Vick was injured against the Cowboys Week 10, completing passes at a marginally higher rate, but for less yards per attempt, and notably throwing three picks against only one touchdown while Vick had thrown 11 touchdowns to nine interceptions.
