Ravens vs. Browns final score: Baltimore avoids upset with late touchdown drive

The Baltimore Ravens used a late touchdown drive after going cold to avoid the Cleveland Browns’ upset.

A two-touchdown Ravens' lead after the first quarter became a one-point deficit as the Baltimore offense went ice cold, but a touchdown drive with less than five minutes to play salvaged a 25-15 road victory against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

From the second quarter to the fourth, Cleveland (2-7) scored on five Phil Dawson field goals to take a 15-14 lead with 8:50 left in the game as the Browns defense solidified.

After allowing Joe Flacco to complete his first 10 passes, Cleveland at one point forced three-and-outs on six straight Ravens drives.

But the Browns couldn’t find the end zone and only mustered five field goals in five trips to the red zone.

Baltimore (6-2) responded as Flacco found Torrey Smith for a 19-yard touchdown pass to regain the lead with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The Baltimore quarterback finished the day 15-of-24 for 153 yards and a touchdown. Ray Rice had 25 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown.

Brandon Weeden was 20-of-37 for 176 yards and two interceptions, while rookie running back Trent Richardson took 25 carries for 105 yards.

Fantasy stud: Phil Dawson. Cleveland's kicker made the best out of a red zone offense that couldn't punch it in. He hit all five of his field goal attempts, most of which were from short distances.

Odds: The Ravens covered the spread after opening as a 3.5-point favorite.

Injury info: Browns receiver Mohamed Massaquoi returned to action after missing five games with a hamstring problem but appeared to aggravate the injury, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.

Next team on the schedule: The Ravens host the Oakland Raiders next Sunday while the Browns have a bye week before heading to Dallas to face the Cowboys on Nov. 18.
