Andrew Luck broke the single-game rookie passing record today, as the Indianapolis Colts' newest franchise quarterback totaled 433 yards passing and two touchdowns in the Colts' victory over the Miami Dolphins.

The record broken is just over a year old, set by Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers. This time the record has fallen the mood is very different, as if this was pre-destined to happen-- not catching anyone by surprise. This is because Luck, the groomed his whole life, running a complex offense at Stanford, has fallen into the NFL and already looks like a seasoned veteran. With his 433 yards today, Luck now has 2,404 yards on the season. This puts him on pace for a 4,800 yard season, which would break a second record-- Cam Newton's rookie season record of 4,051 yards.

Newton, last year's offensive rookie of the year is the single degree of separation between Andrew Luck, and former Colts' QB Peyton Manning. It was Manning's rookie numbers that the Panthers' QB topped, and now another Colts' quarterback is on pace to reclaim the throne.
