Buccaneers vs. Raiders 2012: Oakland attempts fake punt, fails

The Raiders are struggling to keep pace with the Buccaneers, and they tried a fake punt. It didn’t go well.

Most times when fake punt passes fail to convert the fourth down, it's because the punter is tackled or makes a terrible throw. Shane Lechler took the snap and successfully completed a pass to Taiwan Jones, but Jones made it about four yards before fumbling.

He would recover his own fumble, but...yeesh. Maybe next time you try to fake punt pass, don’t rely on third-string running backs making up 10 yards after the catch.
