In September, “Bomani & Jones” recorded a video about “football fantasy,” an attempt at stopping fans from tricking themselves into believing in their teams. You know, fandom somehow stops people from realizing how sorry and/or overrated their favorite squad actually is.
Bomani & Jones: Flawless Falcons face fans’ fears
If I do say so myself, we killed it. Just about every single prediction we made proved to be true. We called the Saints struggles. We told Cowboys and Redskins fans to prepare for more. And though a 4-0 start had us worried, the Cardinals look just like the team we warned their fans not to buy into.
We just got one thing wrong -- the Falcons. To be clear, we warned the folks that the Falcons would never stop being the Falcons. Except, well, they’re 8-0 now, which is the least Falcons record they’ve ever had.
Many would prepare to eat crow. Nope. “Bomani & Jones” is simply here to warn you again -- THESE ARE STILL THE FALCONS, PEOPLE. There’s no telling what’ll bring this all crashing down ... but it’s all gonna come crashing down. That “football fantasy” video was like a list from “Final Destination.” And you know no one ever escapes that.
Especially not a team with the history of the Atlanta Falcons.
