The Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL are alarmed this morning with the now-confirmed news that Jovan Belcher was involved in a murder-suicide, taking the life of his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself at Arrowhead Stadium.

While any such event would be shocking, the Chiefs’ linebacker has no history of trouble with the law or even with the team.
