Jay Ratliff injury: Cowboys NT doubtful vs. Steelers

Jay Ratliff appears to be out again for the Dallas Cowboys this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

The Dallas Cowboys are fighting for their playoff lives, and might have to take the fight to the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend without starting nose tackle Jay Ratliff. According to a tweet by Rowan Kavner of DallasCowboys.com, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Ratliff is doubtful.

Ratliff hasn’t played since Nov. 18 against Cleveland while recovering from a groin injury. The 2012 season has been a bit of a wash for Ratliff, who has only played in six of the Cowboys’ 13 games while only accounting for 16 tackles and no sacks.

Ratliff's lingering injury issues are apparently a point of contention within the locker room. It was reported this week the player and team owner/general manager Jerry Jones had to be separated in the locker room following the team's win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 2, after Jones tried to encourage Ratliff to come back from the injury. Ratliff responded by yelling at Jones, and teammates had to separate the two before Ratliff stormed out of the locker room. Ratliff wasn't disciplined for the altercation.
