Stallworth was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury after only one game with the team. The Patriots signed Stallworth on Monday, Dec. 4 to replace Julian Edelman, who they placed on injured reserve. Stallworth caught one pass, a 63-yard touchdown, in the Patriots 42-14 win over the Houston Texans on Monday.

It’s expected that the Patriots will bring back Deion Branch to replace Stallworth, per the Boston Globe.

Stallworth was with the Patriots in the preseason but was released before the start of the season and was a free agent before New England signed him last week. He has 321 receptions for 4,837 yards and 35 touchdowns in his career.

Shiancoe only appeared in four games with the Patriots this season and did not record a single reception. New England signed Shiancoe to a one-year deal for $1.2 million on July 24, 2012. In nine seasons with the Giants and Vikings, Shiancoe caught 243 passes for 2,677 yards and 27 touchdowns.
