Seahawks vs. Bills: Russell Wilson makes the case in convincing win

Here is video of the Seattle Seahawks pulling off a fake punt while up by 30 points in the fourth quarter against the lowly Buffalo Bills. Why did you go and do a thing like that, Pete Carroll, and do you feel bad about this?

Seattle being incapable of shutting down its punt offense, as if it’s a machine rigged to level a mountain whether that mountain is a mountain or a mound of puppy dogs, is the best NFL thing of the week.

As SB Nation’s Seahawks blog, Field Gulls, explained following their 50-17 win over Buffalo, the last two offensive performances are historically impressive.

It is worth noting that the last two games for Seattle were against two teams with losing records and average-to-poor defenses, but 108 points in 120 minutes of play is impressive nonetheless.

Despite trailing only 14 to 7 after the first quarter, the Bills didn’t seem to be in the game and they weren’t. The Seahawks exploded for 17 second-quarter points to build a 31-7 lead before Buffalo could find the end zone again. The Seahawks scored 19 more points in the second half while shutting out the Bills to complete the rout.

Odds: The Seahawks opened as three-point favorites and had little trouble covering the spread. The over was set at 42.5 when opening lines came out, which Seattle was able to cover by itself.

After two and a half years back in the pros, following a decade of dominance at USC, Pete Carroll is super happy to have comfortable leads in the NFL for the first time. So happy that he wants all of the points and all of the plays.

To be fair to the hapless Bills, the Seahawks are doing their part too. They are playing fantastic and look set to improve to 9-5 on the season as their run to a playoff spot continues.

The Bills are losing, but oh my, what a grab that was. And notice how he didn’t draw a flag after spinning that ball and looking at it.
