NFL scores update: Atlanta and New Orleans cruising

Playoff implications abound in early games.

With eight games in the slate for today’s early games there are plenty of playoff implications. Here are your scores around the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints are having no problems with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unusually stout, the Saints' defense has stopped Doug Martin and Josh Freeman from having any success, and Drew Brees has thrown for three touchdowns already.

In the Georgia Dome, the Atlanta Falcons are looking to make a statement against the New York Giants -- and they are doing just that. Following a loss to the Carolina Panthers, Mike Smith's team endured a lot of criticism this week calling them "pretenders," but they're quickly quieting critics. A loss today would severely damage New York's playoff push.

New Orleans Saints - 24 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 0

Atlanta Falcons - 24 vs. New York Giants - 0

Cleveland Browns - 14 vs. Washington Redskins - 10
