Chiefs vs. Raiders, Week 15: Terrelle Pryor gets first taste of NFL action

Although it wasn’t exactly memorable, Terrelle Pryor did get on the field for the first time in his professional career Sunday.

With the Raiders in the midst of a lost season, head coach Dennis Allen decided to treat QB Terrelle Pryor to his first NFL snap Sunday in Oakland's 15-0 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Three snaps to be exact.

On the Raiders first series of the second quarter, Pryor replaced starter Carson Palmer with the coaching staff anxious to see if the young signal caller could possibly get something started. Unfortunately, that's not what happened as Oakland racked up a quick three-and-out after a false start on first down.

Pryor attempted only one pass on the possession—an incompletion directed for Darrius Heyward-Bey. On the other two downs, he simply handed the ball off to Darren McFadden.

The former supplemental draft pick then watched the rest of the game from the bench as Palmer went on to lead his team to five field goals, snapping the Raiders’ six-game losing streak in the process.

Following the victory, Levi Damien of Silver and Black Pride said he expects Pryor to be given another chance before the season is through. But he did add that “the situation will have to be ideal” as Allen continues to fight for his job with wins.

To read Damien’s entire article about Pryor’s debut, head on over to Silver and Black Pride.
