The third-year quarterback has seen limited action in his first season with the Jets and, after Greg McElroy was named starter for next weekend, Tim Tebow’s time with the Jets looks like it will come to an end.
Wildcat-gate! Rex Ryan addresses Tebow reports

The decision to replace Tebow with Kerley in the Wildcat was apparently made early enough in the week to give the receiver time to work on the role in practice. Ryan announced that McElroy would start on Tuesday.

USA TODAY SportsNaturally, the easy target for Tebow is with his hometown team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The claim is that he will sell tickets, despite evidence he doesn’t and he’s not needed to, and that the Jaguars owner Shad Khan wants him. When Khan took over the Jaguars, he was asked about Tebow and said he would have drafted him. To most media, that means Khan wants Tebow regardless of his abilities, for marketing purposes.
If Khan really wanted Tebow that badly, he simply could have upped his offer to a third-round pick and forced the Broncos’ hand, but he didn’t. He asked his front office to see if it made sense and try to get him if it did, which the Jaguars did, but not as a quarterback. Then Khan could have had another shot at Tebow prior to the NFL trade deadline, but once again there was no interest.

USA TODAY SportsTebow, who has clearly been frustrated with his role on the Jets this season, spoke of the team in the past tense on Wednesday. Having only played 70 offensive snaps with the teams this season, Tebow appeared at a loss as to why the Jets traded for him in the first place:
Jets head coach Rex Ryan had originally planned to use Tebow in a Wildcat package. However, he acknowledged on Wednesday, insisting that Tebow’s trade was not forced on him by ownership, that things had not worked out as they had hoped:

The New York Daily News reported on Tuesday that if McElroy is to finish out the season as the Jets’ starting quarterback, Tebow will request a trade or a release at the end of this season.
