The Jets sent Mark Sanchez to the bench, and the beat the Cardinals in an ugly one.
‘Long live the McElroy era’

ElsaAlthough the Jets defense probably deserves much of the credit after keeping the Arizona Cardinals out of the end zone all day, only allowing a pair of field goals on drives where the Cardinals already had good field position. But most of the hubbub will probably surround McElroy, who led the team on its only scoring drive after being shut out for three quarters. Gang Green Nation tempered their expectations, saying that it was important not to overreact to a single possession, but still celebrated McElroy’s performance in a post titled “Long Live the McElroy Era”:
What’s good for McElroy, of course, is bad for Sanchez. Gang Green Nation didn’t mince words regarding the player who has started at quarterback for the Jets since being drafted in the first round four seasons ago, calling for the end of Sanchez’ time at quarterback after his three-pick game in their postgame recap:
