Christian Ponder doesn’t have a lot of reliable options in the passing game. While Percy Harvin is a great playmaker who can be moved all over the field when healthy, he breaks down due to his size and stature late in the season. This year is no different; Harvin is inactive for the third straight game.
Kyle Rudolph does the Lambeau Leap which is silly because he’s a Viking
The Minnesota TE is Christian Ponder’s best friend, and he celebrated a touchdown in Green Bay.
So Ponder looks to unlikely target Kyle Rudolph early and often, and as such Rudolph has emerged as a touchdown threat. The Notre Dame product may have only 43 receptions on the year, but his eight touchdowns -- including one today against the Green Bay Packers -- have made him a fantasy must-start at a relatively shallow position (with plenty of tight ends either injured or having disappointing seasons).
If Harvin is expected to miss any more time, Rudolph’s value goes up even more. Maybe there will a few more pseudo-Lambeau Leaps in his future, even if he makes some Packers fans a little grumpy.
