How to watch Vikings vs. Texans online, TV schedule, radio and more

Two players are looking to break records, but it’s their team’s playoff aspirations at the forefront of Sunday’s contest

The Minnesota Vikings travel to Houston this week to face the Texans in a game with major playoff implications for both teams. The Vikings are looking to hold onto their tenuous wild card, threatened by their division-rival Chicago Bears, while Houston are hoping they can do enough to separate from the Denver Broncos and secure home-field advantage through the playoffs.

Other than find a back door into the playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings have a secondary goal -- allow running back Adrian Peterson to break Eric Dickerson's all time rushing record. Needing 294 yards to break the mark, for most backs this would be impossible. For Peterson, however, the prospect of averaging 150 yards over the next two weeks would be overwhelming, but on the tail-end of a month that saw the Vikings back run for 576 yards in the last three weeks, now it's more possible.

With far less pomp and circumstance than Peterson's attempt at the rushing record, the Houston Texans have a playing striving to make history also. Tied with Aldon Smith at the top of the league, J.J. Watt has 19.5 sacks on he season -- just three shy of Michael Strahan's all-time record (who will, coincidentally, be a part of the pre-game broadcast on Fox). Last week against the Indianapolis Colts, Watt sacked rookie Andrew Luck three times, and has been a force all season.
