Miami can also thank their defense that held on to protect the lead, as noted by Kevin Nogle of SB Nation’s Dolphins blog, The Phinsider. While the Dolphins defense allowed a bunch of yardage, the team came up with three big turnovers.

Bills mail it in for second straight week

The Bills did rack up 381 yards of offense, but four turnovers, 11 penalties and dropped passes ruined several scoring opportunities. It was just same old, same old for a Buffalo team that has not sniffed the postseason in years, and Matt Warren over at SB Nation’s Bills blog Buffalo Rumblings says that coach Chan Gailey’s days might be numbered:

Gailey took over as Bills head coach in 2010 and has compiled a woeful 15-32 record in nearly three seasons. Gailey certainly does not deserve all the blame for the team’s struggles over the past few seasons, but performances like the last couple of weeks do not help his cause.

With both teams out of the playoff mix, they still find themselves feeling distinctly different about the year. Buffalo had expectations of making the playoffs only to fall very short, leaving Chan Gailey on quite a hot seat.

On the other hand, Miami is clearly rebuilding and looks like it may become a contender sooner rather than later.

    Brian Hartline active

Fantasy Take: Hartline would rate in the WR3 category, almost unheard of for a player that crosses over 1,000 yards after 14 weeks, but he has not done much outside of that huge game against Arizona.

Bills vs. Dolphins 2012 game preview

    Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

With the playoff hopes very slim for the Dolphins, a better performance from the rookie is a more realistic goal for the Dolphins to look for, while the Bills can hope for improvement from a defensive unit that has allowed the second most points in the NFL through 15 weeks.

Kevin Nogle from The Phinsider says that the Dolphins didn’t play up to par in a Week 11 loss to the Bills:

Bills vs. Dolphins Week 16 picks

    Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE

The Bills did win the first matchup this year back on Nov. 15, but considering the Dolphins now have a lot more to play for, one would expect them to be more focused and motivated this time around. It appears that most NFL experts feel the same way, because the majority of them are picking Miami to win.

SB Nation’s Joel Thorman predicts the Dolphins will pull out a hard-fought 27-23 victory. All six of the ESPN experts who have made their picks have gone with the Dolphins, as has ESPN’s Accuscore prediction machine. The three Yahoo! Sports experts are also picking the Dolphins. We finally get to the panel of eight over at CBS Sports before a pick for the Bills is discovered, courtesy of Will Brinson.
