Bills vs. Dolphins, Week 16: Buffalo fans upset with ‘mailed in’ performance

The Buffalo Bills suffered yet another ugly defeat on Sunday, this time losing 24-10 to the Miami Dolphins. Bills coach Chan Gailey may be on the hot seat after his third straight losing season.

For the second week in a row, the Buffalo Bills were not all that competitive in an ugly loss. After getting drilled by the Seattle Seahawks 50-17 last weekend, the Bills fell behind the Miami Dolphins early on Sunday and never recovered, losing 24-10.

The Bills did rack up 381 yards of offense, but four turnovers, 11 penalties and dropped passes ruined several scoring opportunities. It was just same old, same old for a Buffalo team that has not sniffed the postseason in years, and Matt Warren over at SB Nation’s Bills blog Buffalo Rumblings says that coach Chan Gailey’s days might be numbered:

The Buffalo Bills mailed it in again and seriously put in question the future of one Thomas Chandler Gailey, Jr. as the head coach of the team in 2013. With their tenth loss of the season, Buffalo has guaranteed they won’t improve on their record from a year ago.

Gailey took over as Bills head coach in 2010 and has compiled a woeful 15-32 record in nearly three seasons. Gailey certainly does not deserve all the blame for the team’s struggles over the past few seasons, but performances like the last couple of weeks do not help his cause.

The Bills will finish off their season next Sunday against another disappointing team in the New York Jets.
