Trent Richardson injury: Nothing broken, left foot in boot

Trent Richardson’s ankle is not broken, but he left the stadium on Sunday in a protective boot.

Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson did not break his ankle on Sunday during the team's 34-12 loss to the Denver Broncos, but he did leave the stadium in a protective boot, according to ESPNCleveland's Tony Grossi. Richardson was carted off the field after getting hurt on the game's final play. The team has not indicated whether they will sit Richardson for the last game of the season next Sunday.

Richardson’s rookie season has been marred by a multitude of injuries, but he’s still managed to accumulate 897 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 14 games. He’s also caught 48 passes for 352 yards and another touchdown. The third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Alabama has shown flashes of brilliance, but has struggled with consistency.

The loss dropped the Browns to 5-10 on the season, and they finish their season next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
