Browns vs. Broncos 2012: Denver wins 10th straight, sets a few records

The Broncos won their 10th consecutive game on a day filled with new records.

Dustin Bradford

Is there any team in the NFL playing better than the Denver Broncos? You would be hard-pressed to find one, and even if you did find another team, they don't have a longer win streak than the Broncos. Nobody in the NFL does after Denver took down the Cleveland Browns 34-12 on Sunday to win their 10th straight game.

That isn’t all the Broncos did on Sunday. It was new record day in Denver as a slew of records went down. KaptainKirk from Mile High Report had them all.

The Denver Broncos are now 12-3 and own the NFL’s longest active winning streak with their 10th consecutive victory, a 34-12 stomping of the Cleveland Browns. This streak ties with the second longest (1984) and is the most since the 1998 team won 13 on their way to a Lombardi Trophy. The 13-3 maxim is still alive and so are our Super Bowl hopes.

Along the way, a few team records were set or added to today. Quarterback Peyton Manning has increased a franchise record with his 34th passing Touchdown of the year.

...

Linebacker Von Miller got 1.5 Sacks to break Elvis Dumervil’s team record (17, 2009) with a total of 17.5 with 1 game remaining. Miller is only the second player since 1994 to record at least 15 Sacks, 25 Tackles For a Loss and five Forced Fumbles in a single season.

That’s just a small sampling of the records set on Sunday. It was a big day at Mile High as the Broncos won yet again, and now the number one seed in the AFC is within reach, too. Not too shabby, Peyton and Co.
