Giants vs. Ravens, Week 16: New York ‘outplayed every way imaginable’

The New York Giants lost 33-14 in a game they seemed inferior to the Baltimore Ravens on both sides of the ball, allowing Joe Flacco’s to pick apart their defense while nothing clicked offensively.

The New York Giants were dominated Sunday by the Baltimore Ravens, putting a major dent in their postseason chances with a week remaining in the regular season.

The Giants fell behind by 14 to start and never looked capable of coming back, eventually losing 33-14. Joe Flacco went over 300 yards, and Bernard Pierce and Ray Rice each had over 100 yards rushing, while New York only had 186 total yards of offense. It was an ugly game, and the defending champions are in grave danger of missing the playoffs. Giants blogger Ed Valentine of Big Blue View didn't have much nice to say in his postgame recap:

The Giants have lost five of seven and, playing games they knew they needed to win the past two weeks, have looked completely disinterested while being outscored 67-14 and outplayed every way imaginable. This is not the way a Super Bowl-winning team is supposed to go about defending its title.

The biggest culprit in Valentine's eyes was cornerback Corey Webster, who Joe Flacco picked on all day, although myriad other players on both sides of the ball also drew criticism. Valentine also rounded up other reactions to the game, including Jason Pierre-Paul's assertion that his team "pissed on our legs."
