The Carolina Panthers will head to the Louisiana Superdome to take on their NFC South rivals, the New Orleans Saints, on Sunday to close their 2012 regular season. While the playoff hopes for both squads are dashed at this point, games between division foes always mean a little more.
Week 17 NFL picks: Panthers vs. Saints
See what the experts are saying about the suddenly-intriguing NFC South contest.

The Saints have been a disappointment this season, but they are still the favorite almost across the board. The experts at Yahoo! Sports each have New Orleans coming away with the win. USA Today’s team also has the Saints as a heavy favorite, but Mike Garafolo and Lindsay H. Jones went out on a limb and picked Cam Netwon & Co. to pull off the upset. Over at CBS Sports, Will Brinson is on an island all by himself as he is the only one of the nine pickers to take a chance on the Panthers.
The last time these two teams met, Carolina took care of business on its home field, winning a close affair, 35-27, in Week 2. That was in the midst of the Saints’ dismal 0-4 start, and they’ve since looked like an entirely different team, which undoubtedly is a factor in their overwhelming endorsement by experts.
