Brandon Weeden’s injury will keep him out; Thad Lewis to start for Browns

Cleveland Browns’ head coach Pat Shurmur announced on Friday that Brandon Weeden will not play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17.

The Cleveland Browns will be seriously short-handed on offense when the take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. Head coach Pat Shurmur announced on Friday that Brandon Weeden (shoulder), Colt McCoy (shoulder) and Trent Richardson (ankle) have all been officially ruled out for the contest.

He also announced that Thaddeus Lewis will start at quarterback and Montario Hardesty will get the nod at running back.

The game will mark the first NFL start for Thad Lewis, a 25-year-old undrafted free agent QB from Duke University.
