Colin Kaepernick will start Week 14 for 49ers

Colin Kaepernick will make his fourth start of the season next Sunday.

San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that Colin Kaepernick will make his fourth start of the season when the 49ers host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Kaepernick is coming off his first loss as a starter last Sunday when San Francisco fell to St. Louis, 16-13 in overtime. Kaepernick was 21-of-32 passing for 208 yards and was sacked three times for a loss of 17 yards. Kaepernick also rushed nine times for 84 yards in the loss, including a 50-yard run in the final three minutes that set up a 33-yard field goal that gave San Francisco a 13-10 lead in the fourth quarter.

Kaepernick is 2-1 as a starter this season and has completed 65.1 percent of his passes while throwing for 888 yards and rushing for another 298. He has thrown for three touchdowns while rushing for another four this season.

Kaepernick replaced Alex Smith as a starter after Smith suffered a concussion against St. Louis in Week 10.
