Jets head coach Rex Ryan had delivered one consistent message throughout the first three months of the season: Mark Sanchez was his starting quarterback. After he threw three early interceptions against the Cardinals, Ryan elected to bench Sanchez in favor of second-year quarterback Greg McElroy. McElroy ended up leading the Jets to a sloppy victory over Arizona.
Rex Ryan leaning towards starting Greg McElroy, according to report
The quarterback controversy in New York is only messier following Week 13.

According to a report from CBS Sports, Ryan could be leaning towards starting McElroy in Week 14. It would be the first start of McElroy’s career, and the first time he’s seen extended game action since his time with Alabama in college.
In a contrasting bit of news, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday Night Countdown that his sources believed that Ryan will go with Sanchez as his starter despite his recent struggles.
The Jets will face the Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.
