Jaguars vs. Titans 2012: Loss a fitting finale for Jacksonville

SB Nation’s Jacksonville Jaguars blog calls the 38-20 loss a fitting finale for the team’s 2012 season, which came to an end on Sunday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars fell at home against divisional opponent Tennessee Titans by the score of 38-20 in a game dominated by special teams touchdowns, oddly enough. In fact, the Titans scored 38 points despite scoring only one touchdown with their offense.

Jacksonville and Tennessee exchanged touchdowns before the Jaguars took a 14-7 lead in the second quarter. But it was all downhill from there as the Titans returned two punts for touchdowns. It didn’t end there, however, as the Titans also ran returned two interceptions for touchdowns, too.

With the loss, the Jaguars fell to 2-14 on the season and more importantly, put Jaguars fans out of their misery, writes Adam Stites of SB Nation’s Jacksonville Jaguars blog, Big Cat Country.

Stites calls the loss "a fitting and just finale for a team that was bad on many levels throughout the 2012 season," as he and Jaguars fans watched quarterback Chad Henne play a brutally awful game.

It was a fitting and just finale for a team that was bad on many levels throughout the 2012 season, but particularly bad in the loss was the play of quarterback Chad Henne. After starting strong with two touchdown passes to Jordan Shipley and Justin Blackmon, he threw three interceptions, including two that were returned for touchdowns by Zach Brown.
