Jon Gruden will interview for NFL head coaching vacancies

The ex-Super Bowl champion will be looking around for a coaching job in 2013.

USA TODAY Sports

Jon Gruden isn’t content anymore with sitting next to Mike Tirico in the Monday Night Football broadcast booth.

The ex-Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach will be looking around for a job as he interviews for head coaching vacancies, according to Marc Sessler of NFL.com.

Gruden, a Super Bowl champion from 2002 with Tampa Bay, would certainly vault to the top of many coaching searches. Gruden is still young at just 49 years old and has the pedigree of a champion, something that will attract many general managers looking to make a splash.

Gruden is an Ohio native, so it's a good idea to keep an eye on the Cleveland Browns job should the reports be accurate that Pat Shurmur is on his way out the door.

It's also been rumored that Gruden could be headed to the San Diego Chargers or Philadelphia Eagles, where he was the offensive coordinator before landing with Oakland back in 1998.
