After finishing 2-14 in 2012, the Kansas City Chiefs will fire head coach Romeo Crennel, but have elected to keep general manager Scott Pioli. According to league sources, the Chiefs will allow Pioli to stay on board despite the team suffering their fifth losing season in six years.

Pioli was one of the many targets of fan grumblings this season, with some fans going so far as to hire a pilot to fly a "Fire Pioli" banner over Arrowhead Stadium during home games. During his four-year tenure with the team, they have gone 23-40 and suffered bad quarterback play from one of Pioli's biggest signings, Matt Cassel.
Kansas City may still remove Pioli from his position before the 2013 NFL Draft, where they hold the No. 1 overall selection, but for now he will remain the head honcho at Arrowhead.
Crennel suffered his fourth losing record in his fifth season as a head coach in the NFL.
