Doug Marrone to interview for Browns, Bills coaching vacancies

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone is drawing interest from the NFL and will interview with the Browns and Bills.

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone could be headed back to the NFL as he is scheduled to interview for the head coaching vacancies with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Marrone, who just finished his fourth season with Syracuse, will interview with Cleveland this week. He has plenty of NFL experience, including two seasons as the New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator. Marrone also worked as the New York Jets’ offensive line coach for three seasons.

In four seasons with Syracuse, Marrone has a 25-25 record but the Orange are coming off an 8-5 season and win in the Pinstripe Bowl. While he is drawing NFL interest and has interviews scheduled, it may take a considerable offer to pry him away from Syracuse. He played college football at Syracuse and taking over as head coach of the Orange was said to be his “dream job.”

While his name might be a surprise to some fans, Marrone has been on the NFL radar for a while.
