The Atlanta Falcons' 30-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday means that the Falcons still have not clinched a first round bye for the playoffs. The Falcons wrapped up the NFC South title last week, and are the only NFC team to have clinched a playoff spot.
NFL playoff scenarios: Loss leaves Falcons still playing for bye
The Falcons lost to the Panthers on Sunday, meaning they will have to wait at least another week to clinch a first round bye or home field advantage for the playoffs.

Atlanta is ahead of the San Francisco 49ers (9-3-1) and Green Bay Packers (8-4) for first place in the NFC, and would have to collapse down the stretch to not get at least a first round bye. Their final three weeks are tough though, as they play the New York Giants, Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to finish the regular season. The Falcons have had a first round bye five times in franchise history. They have also made the playoffs three straight years for the first time in franchise history, and have made the playoffs four times in the past five seasons overall.
