Lavell Hawkins and the Tennessee Titans have agreed on a contract extension, according to Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean. Hawkins was one of 17 unrestricted free agents that the Titans will be dealing with this offseason. He is coming off a career year in which he caught 47 passes for 470 yards and a touchdown.

Lavelle Hawkins has signed a contract extension with the Tennessee Titans. He caught a career high 47 passes for 470 yards and a touchdown last season.
With Hawkins locked up, Donnie Avery becomes the team's only offensive skill player left to be negotiated. Whether it's a good sign that Tennessee's offense, which ranked 17th in the league last season, will be largely unchanged in 2012 remains to be seen. The potential loss of several key defensive players is arguably a much larger issue, however.
Details of Hawkins’ new contract have yet to be disclosed. Next season will be the fifth of his career after being drafted in the fourth round out of Cal in 2008.
