Tim Tebow Working On Throwing Motion In Offseason

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is working with UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone on his throwing motion this offseason.

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow exited the NFL playoffs with a loss to the New England Patriots, in a game in which Tebow struggled to complete nine passes. Tebow's completion percentage during the season was an abysmal 46.5 percent and a lot of his struggles stem from his elongated throwing motion and poor overall mechanics throwing the football. Tebow is trying to rectify that problem, however, by working with renowned quarterback guru, UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone.

“He just came out here to throw and work on a few things and see if we can just become a little more efficient in what he’s doing,” Mazzone told ESPN. “Throwing motion, footwork, everything I work on with all my quarterbacks.”

The session with Mazzone will last through the weekend for Tebow. Mazzone has previously worked with San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who also has an unorthodox throwing release. Mazzone was Rivers' offensive coordinator at N.C. State.

Mazzone will be working with Rivers as well as Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder.

Mazzone speaks regularly with Broncos quarterback coach Adam Gase, as to know what the Broncos would like Tebow to be working on.

“Obviously, I wouldn’t do anything that would go against what their beliefs are,” Mazzone told ESPN. “I know after coaching quarterbacks for a long time, they’re like girlfriends. You don’t like other guys messing with them.”
