Linebacker Leroy Hill is scheduled to be a free agent on March 13 and there will be a big red flag when he gets there. According to the News Tribune, the Seattle Seahawks linebacker was arrested for marijuana possession early Saturday morning.

The report states that someone reported the smell of marijuana coming out of a 17th floor apartment in Atlanta. Police were notified and a search warrant was obtained.

Upon entry, officers found partially-smoked suspected marijuana “blunts” in plain view, as well as marijuana residue.

According to the report, Hill and his girlfriend were arrested and taken into custody for possession of marijuana (less than an ounce). The two were transported to the Atlanta City Detention Center.

Hill was the Seahawks franchise player just three years ago. He signed a six year deal in 2009 and re-worked that deal with significantly less money (and years) in 2010. This is his third arrest in the last three years so, from another NFL team’s perspective, this may not be more than just a simple mistake. This isn’t the type of pattern a soon-to-be free agent wants on his record.
