Hines Ward announced his retirement from the NFL after 14 seasons on Tuesday, all of which he played with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The immediate discussion afterward was whether or not he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame someday. We asked Facebook -- which is known for giving well-reasoned, scientific responses -- but figured it was worth polling the readers here, too.
POLL: Hines Ward Retires; Is He A Hall Of Famer?
↵
Here is some info before you make your decision: Ward is eighth all-time in receptions with exactly 1,000. He has six 1,000-yard receiving seasons, but only one 100-reception season. He is 39th all-time on the TD receptions list with 86. Pro Football Reference lists similar players as Derrick Mason, Keenan McCardell, Anthony Miller, Charley Taylor, Drew Pearson, Andre Rison, Harold Carmichael, Keyshawn Johnson, Harold Jackson and Lance Alworth, two of whom are in the Hall of Fame. He was voted to four Pro Bowls (/fart noise). He was a Super Bowl MVP. Cris Carter still isn't in the Hall of Fame.
↵Alright, so, time to vote!
