Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has been a fixture as a key member of the Baltimore Ravens for over a decade. This fall will mark his 11th season as a member of the team. He hopes it will not be his last.

ESPN.com reports that Reed spoke to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel after being inducted into the Miami Hurricanes’ Hall of Fame on Thursday night. He expressed his desire to play as long as possible and to do so as a member of the Ravens.

”I want to play football. But it’s something me and my team have been discussing the last couple of weeks. My partners, they do a great job of making sure I know the pros and cons of what’s going on with my body and with the organization and where we’re at. I plan on doing it, but depending, it could change. ...

“If it was up to me, I’d be with a walking cane out there. I don’t know, man. I think four to five years is a reality for me.”

Reed said that Baltimore would remain his home until the team “says otherwise.”
