Even for Colts fans, who just saw the best quarterback in franchise history leave town, it's hard to find reasons to hate Peyton Manning.
Peyton Manning Says His Goodbyes To Indy Sportswriters
The latest example comes from Phil Wilson of the Indy Star:
Stunned today to receive cell call from Peyton Manning. FormerColts QB is calling writers to thank them for their work over the years. Manning said he hoped he could stay with Colts, but understands the biz. He told me to pass along to the fans how much he appreciated them. That's the first time I've ever received a good-bye call from a Colts player in my journalism career. Classy move. Wished him the best.
I’m stunned to hear Jim Harbaugh didn’t call Indy sportswriters when he left the Colts in 1997, although he may not be very good at goodbyes.
