2012 NFL Schedule To Be Released On Tuesday

The 2012 NFL regular season schedule will be revealed Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. on the NFL Network. The preseason matchups were revealed earlier this month.

The 2012 NFL schedule will be released Tuesday evening on the NFL Network. You can watch the matchups be unveiled, or simply check out NFL.com at 7:00 p.m. ET.

At the moment, there is just one regular season matchup in ink. The defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, Sept. 5, to kick off the season. The game would normally be slotted for Thursday, but the date was moved to avoid conflict with the final day of the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Every year, teams play a set of games against every team from one each of an in-conference division and a cross-conference division. This year the in-conference matchups are as follows:

AFC East vs. AFC South
AFC North vs. AFC West
NFC East vs. NFC South
NFC North vs. NFC West

And the cross-conference pairings are:

AFC East vs. NFC West
AFC North vs. NFC East
AFC South vs. NFC North
AFC West vs. NFC South

The 2012 NFL Preseason Schedule was revealed earlier this month. You can check out that schedule here, as well as analysis by division and the most intriguing games to watch.
