The 2012 NFL schedule is slowly trickling out over the course of Tuesday. Aspects of the season are beginning to take shape prior to the official schedule announcement at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday night.

One of the latest bits of information to come out was reported by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Pittsburgh Steelers will reportedly open their season with a road game against the Denver Broncos and their new quarterback, Peyton Manning. That game will be the Week 1 matchup for "Sunday Night Football" and is sure to be a very eagerly anticipated game.

The Steelers may be on the decline in 2012, while the Broncos may be on the rise. Add to that the mountains of speculation regarding the health and ability of Manning after missing the entire 2011 season, and this is a worthy Week 1 marquee matchup.
