The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are attempting to make 2012 a rebuilding season. It will certainly be difficult to do much worse than the 10-game losing streak that wrapped up the Bucs' 2011 campaign. Tampa Bay has been making moves in the offseason, including exploring the free agent market and preparing for next week's 2012 NFL Draft. Now it appears that the Buccaneers are also going to explore trades in order to get the pieces they feel they need to be competitive.

According to Scott Reynolds of the Pewter Report, the Buccaneers have been shopping starting cornerback Aqib Talib. One of the potential plans for seeking a trade for Talib might be trading down in the draft order in exchange for more overall draft picks.

So far, there has been no interest. Talib is in the final year of his contract and faces trial in June for charges of aggravated assault, so either of those factors could be keeping potential good fits away from making a trade. Still, as the spring wears on, some teams may find themselves more amenable to making a deal.

The Buccaneers may opt to pick up a new starting cornerback via the draft.
