The Green Bay Packers will be parting ways with longtime left tackle Chad Clifton, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Clifton failed a physical after having back surgery in the offseason. Per Schefter, it's unclear whether Clifton will play again.

Clifton has been in Green Bay for over a decade after the Packers selected him in the second round of the 2000 NFL draft. He’s been the everyday starter at left tackle since that point. He played just six games in 2011 due to an injury.
Clifton was due over $5 million in salary in 2012, which now comes off the books. He was attending the start of the Packers offseason workouts, but with a failed physical he’ll now be playing elsewhere, if at all.
That this moves comes before the NFL draft makes you wonder if the Packers are now thinking of picking an offensive lineman in the draft, which starts on Thursday.
