Josh Cribbs, Marcel Reese added to AFC roster

Jason MillerCribbs replaces Jacoby Jones as a kick returner, marking the third Pro Bowl appearance of his career. In 2012 Cribbs finished fourth in the league in kickoff returns, averaging 27.4 yards per attempt. He also averaged 12 yards per punt return, ranking sixth overall in the NFL.
This season Cribbs surpassed the 12,000-yard mark for career return yardage, making him just the sixth player in history to do so.

The Pro Bowl is saved. A month after speculation that the NFL might nix its version of an all-star game, the NFL and the NFLPA announced via a joint release on Wednesday that the 2013 Pro Bowl is set for January 27 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
For the fourth year in a row, the Pro Bowl will happen the week before the Super Bowl, launching a week of media hysteria around the big game. This year’s Pro Bowl will be broadcast on NBC at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke to a group of bloggers, including several from SB Nation, on Thursday afternoon in the hours before the start of the 2012 NFL draft. Among the topics discussed was the possible cancellation of the Pro Bowl. A report emerged Thursday that the commissioner was “likely” to suspend the Pro Bowl due to the poor quality of play.
Goodell confirmed that the league was considering canceling the game if they couldn’t find a way to improve it. One of the ideas Goodell shared was an interesting one -- the prospect of basing the pay Pro Bowlers receive on their performance in the game.
