The Cleveland Browns traded up in the selection order on Thursday night to select running back Trent Richardson at No. 3. It appeared as though the move was adding a different component to the offense headed up by starting quarterback Colt McCoy. However, when the Browns made their second first-round pick at No. 22, they went with Oklahoma St. Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden, which was a move that seemed fairly telling.
Colt McCoy Trade Could Be Coming With Browns Drafting Brandon Weeden
The Cleveland Browns picked up quarterback Brandon Weeden in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Colt McCoy may be on his way out as a result.

The Plain Dealer reports that Cleveland general manager Tom Heckert has more or less confirmed that McCoy may be on his way out as a result of the Weeden selection.
When asked if he would try to trade McCoy over the next two days of the draft, Heckert said, “It’s something we’ll talk about tonight and tomorrow.” He added that the Browns could possibly move up from their next pick at No. 37 to the top of the second round.
McCoy has been 6-15 for the Browns as a starter and has many wondering whether he will ever be truly effective as a team’s No. 1 quarterback in the NFL.
