Darrius Heyward-Bey was charged with driving under the influence on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol. Heyward-Bey, a wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders for the past three seasons, was pulled over at 2 a.m. on the night in question.

Via the San Francisco Chronicle:

According to CHP spokesman Tony Tam, the Raiders first-round draft pick of 2009 was driving his 2012 Range Rover on the lower deck about 2 a.m. April 7 when an officer spotted him speeding and weaving in his lane.

Heyward-Bey, 25, was pulled over and given a field sobriety test, which he failed, the CHP said. He was cited for alleged drunken driving and later released.

The legal blood alcohol content limit in California is .08. Heyward-Bey was said to be “very cooperative,” according to police.

Heyward-Bey was the Raiders first-round pick in the 2009 NFL draft. He led the team with 975 receiving yards last season.
