Like any NFL head coach, Mike Shanahan wants his players to play through injuries and after he collided with a Redskins player at practice he'll have a chance to show how well he can do it himself.
Mike Shanahan Goes Down After Collision At Redskins Practice
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was involved in a collision with a player at practice on Monday.
The Associated Press reports that Shanahan was knocked off his feet when Redskins defensive back Brandyn Thompson collided with him at Monday's practice.
Shanahan remained on his back for a couple of minutes while he was checked near midfield.
Eventually, he was helped up and then stood for a bit before walking to the sideline, where he watched the rest of Monday’s practice near general manager Bruce Allen.
The Redskins did not comment on whether Shanahan was injured. Don Banks of SI.com reported that Shanahan remained at practice for the final 10 minutes and he was seen laughing. He did not make his regularly scheduled appearance with the media after practice.
Last year, Saints head coach Sean Payton was involved in a collision that resulted in a serious knee injury.
