Derrick Mason Retiring As A Raven On Monday

Derrick Mason's career ended unceremoniously during the 2011 NFL season when he was released from the Houston Texans after being acquired via a trade with the New York Jets. Prior to the 2011 season, Mason spent six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Mason, who announced his retirement in January, will retire as a Baltimore Raven.

Originally drafted by the (then) Houston Oilers in the fourth round of the 1997 NFL Draft, Mason spent the first eight years of his career with the Oilers/Titans before signing with the Ravens in free agency in 2005. Mason will hold a press conference on June 11 at 3 p.m. ET at the Under Armour Performance Center.

Mason ended his 14-year career with 934 receptions, 66 touchdowns and over 12,000 yards, and he retires as the Baltimore Ravens all-time leading receiver.
