The New York Jets were happy to see cornerback Darrelle Revis show up to the team's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Revis, who has two years remaining on his current contract, recently publicly expressed a desire for a new deal, leading some to wonder if he would show up this week.
Darrelle Revis Shows Up To Jets Mandatory Minicamp
Missing mandatory minicamp is pricey -- $10,000 fine for day one, $20,000 for day two and $30,000 for the third day. That’d be $60,000 for missing a three-day minicamp, which Revis apparently isn’t interested in doing.
Revis will likely continue to make some noise about his deal, but the next key deadline is training camp, which starts in late July. If he’s holding out by the time camp arrives, the Jets have a problem on their hands. Until then, there’s not a high level of concern if he’s showing up to the required portions of the offseason program.
